I've been "tagged" by my darling friend Camille! Just to write some random things about me. Her's were so fun and funny, so let's see if mine can even compare.



1. If I didn't live the Word of Wisdom, I bet I would be a coffee drinker. I love the smell of coffee. Good thing I believe in the WOW.

2. (Que the violins...) I have never made anything I have tried out for--ie: trying out for sports teams, cheerleading, etc. I was on the drill team freshman year, but I didn't really make the team. The leaders came to me and told me that I didn't make it, but because everyone else did, they would just put me on the team. Sad, no? You think I am making it up. Maybe I have just changed things around to what I want to remember, but Jeanna--am I right?

3. I secretly think my greatest feature is the color of my hair--I love it. And I am horrified of gray hair (which is starting to pop out.... thank goodness for tweezers; Get over it Camille, I am going to pluck them!) Once I can't catch all the gray hair, then I will finally color it (yes I am still virgin hair...)

4. My dream car is a dark green convertible Volkswagen Rabbit. The old kind (not the new Cabriolet). I have wanted one since I was 16.

5. My favorite candy bar is TWIX. Yum (anybody seem the Seinfeld about them?)

6. My idea of a great vacation is going to a place other than my home (pretty much anywhere--a hotel, my parents, my parent-in-law, mexico, Timbuctoo (spelling?)), being with my husband, (and the kids for awhile) and reading all the books I want. (I don't know what my husband or kids would do while I read...) Although it probably would be a funner in Paris, France.

Our Blog Christmas Card -- Year in Review

Here is a review of the past year for our little family for those interested and as a "Christmas Card" to all those who read this blog.
Of course the highlight of our year has been the addition to our family —our sweet Brennan Sale Daw. (I have been asked what the significance of Sale is—it is my father’s middle name and his mother’s maiden name.) He was born November 24 at 10:52 pm. He weighed 7 lbs 5 oz and was 19 ½ inches long. He is the most perfect little baby boy. Along with his two perfect brothers, who adore him.
Aidan is what we have dubbed a “goofball”. He is CRAZY—in a fun way. He loves to call people goofball (thanks to Auntie Heidi), and is constantly saying the funniest things. His latest is “A Brand New Caaaaar”---as he motions with his hand, just like on the game shows. (We just bought a brand new car…) He is two—and in the midst of it all. He loves his little blanket, his “Ruffy” (stuffed doggy), and Lightning McQueen. It is not often you would see him without a car in his hand. He loves everything about cars. He also loves his older brother and follows him around everywhere, as well as repeats everything Weston says. Even though he is now a big brother, he insists he is still little (“I not big, I little!”). He is into everything and quite active--he broke his arm falling off a chair. Cute cast, but sad sweet boy. Aidan loves to sing, his favorite song is “I am a Child of God.” He is so sweet, and really knows how to turn on the charm.
Weston turned four and started pre-school. He loves all of it, and adores his teacher. He loves to learn about space and is "into" heroes of any kind. Thank goodness for Planet Heroes, a new line of toys from Fisher-Price. That is all he wants for Christmas (and all he is getting...). He loves to show his muscles and jump off things--he is very athletic (well, as athletic as a Brown-Daw combination will get. Poor kid). He played t-ball in the spring--Scott was the coach. What fun! He is a sensitive sweet boy who loves his brothers, and is especially sweet with Brennan. He is extremely smart (of course) and loves to have books read to him. This year we read “James and the Giant Peach”, “The Wind in the Willows”, and “Fantastic Mr. Fox”. The boys got bunk beds and he loves being on the top bunk.
Scott turned 30, too late now to say "I'm in my twenties." He had many things to do with his calling as Young Men's President--campouts and meetings. I thought he was so busy... And then he was called as 2nd Counselor in the Bishopric. Then he got slightly busier. And now I am a "church widow". He keeps our garden beautiful in the summer (he is a fantastic gardener) and our walks free of snow in the winter (thanks to his favorite toy --the snowblower). His business is going well and he is successful with all he does.
I am a busy mother of three boys—quite outnumbered. But, I always loved being surrounded by boys, so I am okay with it… I am the Wolf Scout leader and enjoy the calling. I was pregnant most of the year, and that really sums up all I did… I didn’t do anything! I seem to have a few complications with my pregnancies and I am constantly contracting. So, I am pretty lazy and don’t do much, so as to not go into labor. Very boring, but I did read a lot of good books. We have done a trip or two up to Idaho to visit my family, and we had a great summer vacation with Scott’s family to Bear Lake.
It has been a lovely year, though it ended sadly. Scott’s grandfather, John Weston Daw, for whom Weston is named, died at the beginning of December. He was a great man. I remember the first time I met him. He grabbed me by the shoulders and yelled (the way grandpa does) “I like you already!” And I liked him already! He was so full of life and such a great person. He was very influential in Scott’s life—helping to create Scott into the man that he is. He was a great patriarch for the Daw family and will be greatly missed.
Now as we celebrate the birth of the Savior, we are comforted to know that He lived for us, and died for us, so that we might live, as families, eternally.

Introducing Brennan Sale Daw

Here he is! Isn't he beautiful? He was born Saturday, November 24th at 10:52 pm. He weighed 7 Lbs 5 oz. and was 19 1/2 inches long.

He had the corded wrapped around his neck, but nothing serious, and it was quickly removed. But he was VERY purple. He came out crying--quite the set of lungs, but really all he has done is sleep.

He looks a lot like Aidan looked when he was born. He is gorgeous! Weston and Aidan both love him so much and are so cute with him.

We are now home and recuperating. I feel good, but it is nice to have my mom here helping out.

He'll be here....

On Saturday! I talked with my Doctor and he is happy having me induced, so Saturday is the day. I feel slightly selfish for scheduling something like a baby.... But, it is so nice for me to be ready, and know when everything will happen. Doesn't the 24th of November sound like a good day for a birthday? I'll post photos of Brennan in just a few days!

Getting kids to eat...

Lately, we have had quite a time of trying to get the kids to eat their meals. I get so frustrated, but I should really just calm down, find a method, and stick to it. We have discussed what we want to do, and we will try it for a month, then if it doesn't work we will retry. I think a lot of it comes down to ME being discipled. If anyone has ideas, let me know!

It isn't helpful that this time of year (end of October til beginning of January) is filled with goodies. We already got a tin from a neighbor filled with treats. I have taken them all and put them in the freezer. Hopefully that will lengthen out their stay...

It was a blessing in our life this week to have Scott’s business issue work out. He had a company that wanted him to pay a lot of money, he didn’t owe it, and could have sued them, but he would rather have had it all just go away. He thought wisely and just called up the CEO of the company—and actually got to talk with him. He explained the situation, and the next day, all was cleared up. It takes a lot off of Scott’s mind. It was very worrisome and it could have turned out bad. We are so grateful that the Lord has helped out and made it go away. Scott has learned a lot from this.

Scott took Weston took a Utah Football game. They had lots of fun--creating father/son memories. I took Aidan to the Utah Chocolate Show with Jen Selleneit. It probably wasn’t as fun as the football game, but we had better candy.

Earlier this week we put Aidan down for the night and he started crying. Weston told him he would lay by him for awhile. Weston sang some songs to him and then they both fell asleep. It is so sweet of Weston to love Aidan so much and treat him so well.

Another night, I was holding Aidan and he looked up at me and said, “Mommy, your hair looks beautiful.” What a sweet child. I love when I get unsolicited compliments.

Shopping for Baby

Weston had his first Primary Program in church last week. At first he was sitting by his friend Talon, and then they moved him between two girls. His face was so expressive. Huge frown, tears, etc, he was not happy to be there. But, he was so good and stuck it out. They eventually moved him back (fortunately before he freaked out) and he did well after that. He even said his part—with help. He is such a sweet boy.
Aidan is CONSTANTLY singing lately. His favorite is “I am a Child of God.” He sometimes belts it out like a rock song… His other favorites are “Penguins Lament”, “The wheels on the bus”, and the ABC song. (If you haven't heard of "Penguins Lament", it is SO cute and funny. It is from a Sandra Boynton book/CD called "Dog Train". The whole CD is great. I completely recommend it to anyone with kids--or without I guess, since I am listening to it even when the kids don't.)

Christmas lights are up on the house--though not on yet. And the day after Thanksgiving we are breaking out all the decorations! I am so excited for Christmas!

Right now we are looking for a rocker/glider for the baby room. Anybody have one that they love? I found one that seems good, a bit cheaper, but I don't need anything too special. Anybody have this and like it? Storkcraft Hoop Glider and Ottoman. I really don't think we need anything else for the baby---since we already have two boys... Maybe the next baby I'll get to do "girlie" shopping.

The Smart Boys

After looking at some friends blogs, I see that there is a lot of sharing of great information! I love to get so many ideas from others. I hope to use taht info, and hopefully share some, too. For now, I will just brag about my kids (another great thing for blogs...).

I just asked Aidan, my 2 1/2 year old different letters of the alphabet. I noticed he knew the letter R, so I asked him more... It is amazing what you learn about your kids if you ask them. I don't know where he learned all of this, but he can identify 13 of the 26 letters! Maybe most 2 year olds can do this, and I just never thought to ask him. But, I think he is a genius (I am entitled to that opinion).

Weston is loving pre-school and learning so much! He loves SPACE and learning about planets, astronauts, satellites, and anything else about space. He is always amazing me with new facts he has learned.

They are both WONDERFUL boys and so excited to get a little brother. They will be great older brothers.

Learning all about Blogs

Scott has been making all these entries, and I have finally asked him to teach me how to add entries. Pretty easy, I just hadn't done it yet. I like that he writes, though. I can't think of anything to write!



We are getting closer to having this baby. I have stopped taking the medication that stops my contractions, so if I start having them, and I can't stop them... there's no waiting. Then again, it may be another four weeks--who knows?



Scott conducted Sacrament Meeting for the first time--and did a GREAT job! We had a bet, I thought he would cry when he bore his testimony... he didn't think he would. I think his eyes teared up and his voice got shaky, but he doesn't think so. (He is a "Sobbing Daw"...)

A Living Prophet

Yesterday we attended Regional Conference at the conference Center. This conference was for 104 stake around the Salt Lake Valley and we were one of fourteen stakes that was invited to attend in the Conference Center. (Others watched via satellite) Presiding at the conference was President Hinckley who spoke and also President Packer. We sat about two-thirds of the way back on the main floor level. the boys were able to see the prophet in person albeit from quite a distance away. Weston later said to Beebs how glad he was that he could see the prophet and yet he probably does not grasp what an opportunity it was for him and all of us.

Getting Closer (Sometimes Too Close!!)

By too close we mean we went to the hospital last Wednesday night-Thursday Morning at 3:00 am to get the contractions stopped. as of Friday Oct 19th Beebs is 34 weeks and counting. What is nice is that she is past the "critical" stage and if the baby were born now things would likely be okay, but another couple weeks would be good for the baby. (Not so much for Beebs)

Scott has been busy with his old man calling. (Bishopric) he spends most Tuesday and Wednesday nights at the church plus a majority of the day on Sunday and sometimes on Thursdays or other weekend days. Needless to say he is busy but is doing a good job of spending every available moment with Beebs and the boys. He even takes Weston with him to activities at the church when he can.

The boys are, well just perfect (except when they are not) They are cute and are growing up so fast. They got bunk beds this week and Weston was brave and overcame his fears and climbed all the way up to the top bunk. we were quite nervous that he would not sleep on the top but he is doing great. Aidan looks so tiny laying in the big boy bed. Of course that may be because he is tiny.

Old Man

Well life is changing for our family. Last week Scott went from a young energetic stylish guy to an old tired High Priest. In other words Scott got called as the second counselor in our Bishopric. This change of course affects Scott's schedule and life but it also greatly impacts Beebs and the boys, not to mention the pregnancy. We are trying to find a "Church Nanny" (someone to sit with Beebs during Sacrament Meeting to help with the boys) during the pregnancy.

Beebs is now 29.5 weeks pregnant. Time sure goes slow when your not having fun. She is ready to get this puppy delivered (we view our children as pets) but of course not until all is well and ready.

The boys are cute. Aidan gets his cast off his arm this week which will be nice for him. It has been quite entertaining to watch him try and eat with his arm in the cast. of course he cannot bend it so he instead moves his head and wrist together. It is pretty funny to watch.

Weston is doing very well in pre-school right now. He is learning so many things and we are constantly amazed at how smart he is.

Brennan's Modeling Portfolio

So we of course think he is beautiful! These picture came from a 3D ultrasound that Beens had the second time we took her to the hospital to get the contractions stopped. All is well with Brennan. Beebs just keeps having contractions and so she has to take things easy. (No carrying things heavy, no picking up the kids, no walks around the block, no heavy cleaning)
Of course Weston and Aidan don't understand why Mommy can't don anything fun but soon enough we will have Brennan and then both Mom and Dad will be old hat to them.

Our boys are growing up

Our boys are growing up so fast. Weston is practically an adult! Well sometimes it seems that way anyway.

Well Beebs is now 24 weeks pregnant and the fun has just begun. We have been to the hospital the last 2 days in a row to have the doctors give her medicine to stop her contractions. All looks fine but it is quite stressful on her to have to keep going and the medicine they give her makes her sick so there is really no good solution. Only 16 more weeks of fun to go!!!

I think people would laugh at him if we named him Elise

Yeah so our sweet little girl that Beebs is pregnant with, well it turns out she is a he. Yep we are having another little boy (Brennan) and of course we are excited. Weston on the other hand is still getting used to the idea of another brother when he so desperately wanted Elise (Probably because we have told him it was a sister named Elise and built the whole thing up)

Not only is it Brennan but the due date has been moved from December 10 to November 30. This is nice because that is 10 fewer days of pregnancy.

For our five year anniversary we went up to Cliff Lake and West Yellowstone in Montana. Beebs used to work at the lodge at Cliff Lake and so we went back and visited the old place. It was great. We briefly went into Yellowstone and say Old Faithful and some mud pots etc. It was a quick 3 day trip but it was so relaxing and enjoyable that it felt like a full week.

Pictures will have to come later. We are just so busy with life right now. It seems like every weekend we have something going on with either family or church. It is always good to be busy but a little free time would be nice.

Aidan has been a little sick recently which has kept him up at night. Interestingly however he is quite happy, just not sleepy which creates a bit of a dilemma for us because we want to sleep but it is hard to keep our eyes off of him when he is sitting playing and singing to himself.

It has now been almost 5 years since we were married in the Washington DC Temple. Weston still asks everytime we see a temple "is that the Washington DC Temple that you were married in?" We have had lots of good times in these 5 years. Last year we went to Disneyland with the boys. Pictures follow.

It's been a while

So life has been really busy for us latley. We have had several memebrs of Beebs' family visiting over the last few months, the boys and Beebs have each had a birthday, Scott's work has been nothing but crazy and stress-filled; basically we have experienced a lot of life lately.

Beebs has been busy with her scout calling. This past month she took all the cubs to a cabin by Smith Morehouse for thier summer day camp. They practiced archery, shooting, fishing, and worked on advancements.

Beebs is now 17.5 weeks pregnant and an ultrasound has been scheduled for July 23 when we will discover if we are correct about this baby being our daughter/sister Elise.

Yesterday was of course Independence Day and we celebrated by going to the parade in Murray which was unfortuanatley not very good. Too many walking comercials and very little by way of floats, horses, bands, and excitement. We then attended a neighborhood BBQ and parade which was not verywell attended but still a good 4th of July activity. We ended the day with the boys waving some sparklers around and what would sparklers be with out a few burns. Aidan was so facisnated with the sparklers that he felt it appropriate to try and grab the fire. His cute little fingers got burned and so he spent the night with a bag of ice which he would put on his hand everytime it hurt. It was quite cute.

That is life as a Daw for now.

11 Weeks And Counting

Hopefully only 2 more weeks of nausea etc for Beebs. It is about this time in her pregnancies that we say maybe this will be the last one. However things generally seem to get better after the first tri-mester and hopefully that will be the case this time as well. Of course we think this one is a girl (based on nothing more than that is what we have planned and so far we are 2 for 2) so maybe things will be different during the pregnancy since the last 2 have both been boys, and very very cute handsome boys at that.

Can you tell Weston is excited for a sister?

Weston & Aidan are so excited to finally get a sister to teach them what it means to be gentle.

That is right! Our beautiful wife and mother Brittany is due to give birth to Elise on December 10, 2007. She is almost 9 weeks pregnant and has had her first doctors appointment at which time we saw a quick ultrasound of our daughter (We have already decided the names and gender of all of our children. This one is a girl named Elise. Hope we are right! so far we are 2 for 2) We saw her heart beating and that was a relief for both of us. Besides that she really just looked like a little blob (she takes after Scott)
