I miss my boys!

I am sitting here missing my three big boys (Scott, Weston and Aidan) (the baby is home with me). The Stake Father and Sons camping (at the park) is tonight and Scott took the two big boys. They were SOOO excited! They both kept talking about it all day. It is nice that they get to have a boy time together, and I get a nice quiet evening here at home. But, truly, I am pretty bored. I don't have the camera (they took it, hopefully Scott is getting good pics), so I can't post any photos, and I really can't think of anything to post about... so really this is a post about nothing.
But, I do miss my boys. :(

Happy Mother's Day!

My kids (and husband) love me! I have been wanting a new vacuum (see other posts) and they surprised me with a new Dyson. And although we aren't supposed to clean on Sunday, we decided to try it out and vacuumed the living room and stairs. Ewww gross! All that grossy dirt in the canister. Yuck, but nice to get it vacuumed up. Thanks to them for the great gift and the wonderful pictures the kids drew (mostly of Star Wars things...)

Funny story: The other day my friend Heather was over (that was fun Heather, thanks for coming over!) and a knock came at the door. It was a box of beautiful flowers. I oooed and awwed and said how wonderful my husband was. I really talked him up. Then he called and I said "Thanks for the flowers honey", to which he replied "I didn't send you flowers!" No, he hadn't. He had ordered some for his mom, then cancelled the order, but they messed up and sent them anyway--to our address. So, he is a wonderful husband, even though he didn't send me flowers, and I got them anyway!

Another story for mother's day: You know how the kids get up and sing on mother's day? Well, our Primary went up, but Weston (being the shy kid he is) was too scared to go up, but he wanted to, so he kind of freaked out. I had to drag him out of the meeting and he screamed for about 20 minutes. It was so crazy. I couldn't get angry at him--he was just frustrated because he wanted to go up, but was too scared. I just felt sorry for him. He finally calmed down and we went in. He later sang me the song by himself at home.

Shout out to my mother for being so great! I love you and appreciate you putting up with my craziness and all the dumb things I do. You are such a stalwart and wonderful person and amazing mother who is capable of doing anything and everything! I love you!

Guess who got his first tooth?

Brennan's first tooth broke through today! No more toothless grin, and lots of pain for the next two years... But, he is growing up so fast and so darn cute!

Weston's First Talk in Primary

Weston gave his first talk in Primary. Well, he said the first few words, and then I finished it for him. But, he did "write" the talk with LOTS of help from me. I am proud of him, though. He practice lots and did well when he practiced. And he has referred to it throughout the week (as have I many times).
Here it is:
Elder Robert D. Hales said, “The key to strengthening our families is having the Spirit of the Lord come into our homes” (Ensign, May 1999, 33) What are some ways to invite the spirit into our homes? We can pray individually and as a family. We can have happy family home evenings. We can read the scriptures as a family. We can speak kindly to each other. These things invite the spirit into our homes. We shouldn’t hit or fight each other. We shouldn’t disobey our parents. Those things make the spirit go away.
Nephi was obedient to his parents and the Lord. This helped strengthen his family. He and his family were blessed. I know that if I am obedient and kind to my family, the spirit will be our home and our family will be strengthened. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Food Article

This article is really great, giving good tips on saving money on the rising price of food. It was interesting to read what is expensive and why. But really it made me so glad that we have had the counsel to have our three-month and long-term storage. I have been making bread (thanks to the inspiration of all of you gals) and find that it is much yummier, but a bit difficult. I just need to practice more. But, I do want a recipe for good sandwich type bread. Anybody?

I also want a deep freeze. I would love to buy milk on sale and freeze it (Beth Anne, just like you!).
I always thought our food storage would be for emergencies... I really didn't think it would be because of price of food. I don't know if I am just slow, but I think it just shows the wisdom in the counsel of the prophets in getting our food storage...

I looked through the pics on my camera and found several that merit a post. We have been busy with Scouting (I hope Scott will blog about his trip to Woodbadge...) and Blue and Gold, so Weston has been dying to wear a Scout shirt (just like daddy!). So, Scott got out his old one from when he was a cub and Weston doesn't want to take it off! Yesterday we finally went and bought him one from DI (much cheaper there than the scout shop...). He also started T-Ball again. We did Tball last year and swore we would never do it again. Two games a week??? But, some friends from the ward were going to do it, so we signed up. But, if the games are late (7:30) or when Scott is in meetings (Wednesday night), then we just won't go (Hey, I am not hauling THREE kids to TBall!). So, it has been about once a week, not so bad. And since he is older this year, he is actually doing really well and is enjoying it.

Aidan is silly!!!! If I leave him for just a few minutes, I come back to find---THIS!

And here is a DARLING photo of him at cousin Jackson's birthday party. My Cousin Jennie is AMAZING! She had a face painter/balloon guy/etc.. at the party. Plus, the cake (below) she had made for it... Wow! She goes all out for parties, and I really think the kids love it. (thanks for inviting us Jennie!) Anyway, Aidan loved it and wanted to be painted like a pirate. I think it is the funniest face--all squishy. I told him to make a face like a pirate for the picture--well, he did!

And of course Brennan is growing up and being as beautiful as a baby can get.
