Or, as my kids call it, the Ogre Mountain Temple. But it is beautiful. Scott and I took the boys up the first day of the Open House. It is beautiful inside with circles as one of the main patterns. The windows are also AMAZING! And there are so MANY windows. There are six sealing rooms in the temple--one small one off of the sealing room and then two small, 2 large and one larger that is the nicest sealing room I have ever seen. One side has frosted windows to the outside and across from them is a huge frosted window into the hallway. There is so much light coming into the room. Sometimes as the sun shines into the room it shines through the crystals on the chandalier and makes the room brighter. It is such a beautiful room. If I was getting married, that is the room I would ask for.Scott and I were lucky enough to help out twice during the open house. Both times we got to help in the sealing rooms. When you go through the Oquirrh temple, it is a "silent" tour. You walk through following the "arrows" and one of the last places you get to is the hallway with the sealing rooms. At that point you are ushered into one of the rooms and you sit down with others and a little 3 minute "presentation" is given about the temple and sealing rooms. We got to give that presentation. We welcomed them and explained that they have seen rooms that represent the journey through this life and then the Celestial room is the culmination of that journey--returning to God's presence. The sealing room is where a man and a woman are SEALED together in marriage for life and eternity. Children are sealed to parents. What a wonderful feeling, knowing you will be a family forever. What a comforting thought for those who have family members who have passed on.
So, we would give the little talk to the people and then they would go on with the tour. It was such a neat experience. You could tell some people had never been in a temple before and so often the spirit was strong and I knew they could feel it. It was also fun because we saw some people we knew. Emma Lewis and her family (and her new husband--good looking!!! way to go Emma!), my next door neighbors from Sugar City, Scott's 2nd grade teacher, and more! It was a great experience, and I am so glad we had that opportunity.

We were up there for the 4th and went on a tour. It is an amazing Temple. unfortunately we didn't make it through the presentation in the sealing room. as soon as everyone was seated our girls thought it was time to scream and listen to the echo so we had to take them out. :(
we are headed there tomorrow morning and we cant wait! we had a bad experience at the draper one and almost didnt go ot this one. but everyone tells us it is organized and beautiful so off we go!
