Too good for me to make again
I made Scott a dessert for Father's Day that I think was DIVINE. It had the perfect combo of what I like. Crunchy but melty, chocolate and peanut butter... Yum. Try for yourselves if you dare:
2 cups peanut butter (divided)
3/4 cup softened butter (I only used 1/2 cup)
2 cups powdered sugar (divided)
3 cups graham cracker crumbs
2 cups chocolate chips (divided)
Beat 1 1/4 cups pb and butter in bowl til creamy. Gradually beat in 1 cup powdered sugar. With hands or wooden spoon, work in remainng 1 cup sugar , graham cracker crumbs and 1/2 cup chips. Press into 13x9 pan (it said to grease pan... yeah right... with that much butter/pb, there is NO need!). Melt remaining peanut butter and chocolate until smooth. Spread over crust. Refridgerate for 1 hour. Store covered in fridge. EAT!

Elise is growing up
Happy Birthday Aidan!
Poor Aidan. I was sick all day on his birthday. Fortunately Scott really stepped up and helped out. Scott took him to Artic Circle for a corn dog (his favorite food) and some ice cream. We had a family party on his birthday and Scott made a "giant cookie" as his cake. He got Mack (from Disney Cars), Bop It, Maternational Wii game, and a Disney Cars car. Grandma and Grandpa gave him another Disney Cars truck and car. He says his favorite part of his birthday was presents. (though he keeps asking me why he didn't get Ninja Knockout or the Cars book of stickers... oops)
We had a friend party last Saturday. It was "Backwards"--we said "goodbye" as they all arrived, played "Goose, Goose, Duck", and pin the donkey on the tail. They ate treats first-- under the table. The kids all loved it, and Aidan had so much fun.
I thought the invitation turned out cute:
Aidan has been so excited for his birthday. He kept making signs, letters, drawing pictures, etc in anticipation of his parties. He has really grown up--helping out with his sister, playing so well with Brennan. But, he is still Aidan. He is constantly singing, playing funny things, being silly, and just adorable! You are such a fun kid, Aidan, and we LOVE you!!!

Happy Birthday Weston
Weston has turned SEVEN! I cannot believe my baby is seven. That is so old... :)

The morning of his birthday I woke him up and took him to IHOP. He loves that place, and it was fun to be together for just "our" time. We had a family party for him on his birthday. He got Lego Star Wars Wii game, a neat football looking shirt and jacket, and a lego Buzz Lightyear thing. Grandma and Grandpa gave him a Lego star wars ship and Omi and Opa gave him the Ralph S. Mouse books (he is just finishing the first one!). He had a party with friends on Friday. Football was the theme. Here is the invite (isn't it awesome?)

The kids played flag football and some other football games. Then there was a pinata--football helmet. Not my best, but it is hard to make a helmet...
I hope he had a good birthday. I didn't make a cake like I usually do, though I did put footballs on the cupcakes. I just didn't have the energy or time to make it any better.
Love you Weston! You are a great kid with lots of love to share with others. You are so good at helping out with Elise and your brothers. You are smart and hardworking. But most especially you are a GOOD boy with a strong testimony. Happy Birthday!

Off track activities
Weston has been off track for the past three weeks and we have really tried to fill it with fun stuff. Sometimes the weather allows for outdoor fun, and then sometimes IT SNOWS! Crazy Utah weather...

We also went to the aquarium. We've been before and liked it, but this time, with the penguins, it was AWESOME! I didn't get any photos, but lots of fun.
Weston took swimming lessons--Level 2, and he did well--he only needs to be able to do ONE more thing to pass. He'll take them again in the fall. We also signed him up for a sports camp. Every day for four hours, playing two different sports and swimming for an hour. It really helped him become more confident about being without me, swimming, and making friends.
We went to the zoo with grandma. Don't you just love this photo of Elise with her?
Here is the "must take" photo. And it is great. We can compare their sizes to last time we went to the zoo!
Weston did a social studies/science project for school. He made a marble run and tested speed. It was really fun to put together and realllly easy and quick. I thought it would be a lot more work, but it was great to make. Just needed to save up TP rolls and buy some craft sticks!
Weston and Aidan finished up their soccer season. Both did well--Aidan even scored a goal. I think Weston will do soccer again, but I'm still debating with Aidan.
We have this lovely Memorial Day weekend ahead of us. So we are going to potty train Brennan. Sound fun? With Scott home, and no plans, we are stripping him of undies, letting him run around naked, and following behind him with a little toilet. I am DETERMINED to have this done by Tuesday!
The other thing that has been taking up our time is the Wii! We finally broke down and bought one (I have been wanting one for awhile!). We found an AMAZING deal on one. We have been playing together tonight for 2 hours! It has been a family night full of fun! We have found that I am the best at baseball (even with my bad shoulder!), Weston at tennis, and Aidan at bowling. Scott is good too... :) Brennan loves to try everything out, too.
It is time to go back to school, although summer is just around the corner. I've got the kids birthdays coming up (wait til you see the invitations to the parties...), and Aidan swimming lessons, and trying to make fun plans for the short summer break. It'll be nice to have Weston back in school, though. He is ready to go back!
