The Things We’ve Handed Down
-- by Marc Cohn
Don’t know much about you
Don’t know why you chose us
Are you a poet or a dancer
...
And these things that we have given you
And one day you may look at us
By our fathers, and their fathers
Don’t know why you chose us
Are you a poet or a dancer
...
And these things that we have given you
And one day you may look at us
By our fathers, and their fathers
Weston started first grade today. He was so excited he got up at 6:30, ate his own breakfast, got dressed and then wore his backpack til school (even through our real breakfast with everyone). He has a few friends in the class, Isabel and Lauren from the ward, and Broc from last years' class. I don't know how I am supposed to be feeling, but mostly I am excited for him. Sure it is a bit sad to see him grow up, but seeing how excited he is just makes me excited!
Or, as my kids call it, the Ogre Mountain Temple. But it is beautiful. Scott and I took the boys up the first day of the Open House. It is beautiful inside with circles as one of the main patterns. The windows are also AMAZING! And there are so MANY windows. There are six sealing rooms in the temple--one small one off of the sealing room and then two small, 2 large and one larger that is the nicest sealing room I have ever seen. One side has frosted windows to the outside and across from them is a huge frosted window into the hallway. There is so much light coming into the room. Sometimes as the sun shines into the room it shines through the crystals on the chandalier and makes the room brighter. It is such a beautiful room. If I was getting married, that is the room I would ask for.
