Off track activities

Weston has been off track for the past three weeks and we have really tried to fill it with fun stuff. Sometimes the weather allows for outdoor fun, and then sometimes IT SNOWS! Crazy Utah weather...

Weston took swimming lessons--Level 2, and he did well--he only needs to be able to do ONE more thing to pass. He'll take them again in the fall. We also signed him up for a sports camp. Every day for four hours, playing two different sports and swimming for an hour. It really helped him become more confident about being without me, swimming, and making friends.

We went to the zoo with grandma. Don't you just love this photo of Elise with her?

We also went to the aquarium. We've been before and liked it, but this time, with the penguins, it was AWESOME! I didn't get any photos, but lots of fun.

Weston did a social studies/science project for school. He made a marble run and tested speed. It was really fun to put together and realllly easy and quick. I thought it would be a lot more work, but it was great to make. Just needed to save up TP rolls and buy some craft sticks!

Weston and Aidan finished up their soccer season. Both did well--Aidan even scored a goal. I think Weston will do soccer again, but I'm still debating with Aidan.

We have this lovely Memorial Day weekend ahead of us. So we are going to potty train Brennan. Sound fun? With Scott home, and no plans, we are stripping him of undies, letting him run around naked, and following behind him with a little toilet. I am DETERMINED to have this done by Tuesday!

The other thing that has been taking up our time is the Wii! We finally broke down and bought one (I have been wanting one for awhile!). We found an AMAZING deal on one. We have been playing together tonight for 2 hours! It has been a family night full of fun! We have found that I am the best at baseball (even with my bad shoulder!), Weston at tennis, and Aidan at bowling. Scott is good too... :) Brennan loves to try everything out, too.

It is time to go back to school, although summer is just around the corner. I've got the kids birthdays coming up (wait til you see the invitations to the parties...), and Aidan swimming lessons, and trying to make fun plans for the short summer break. It'll be nice to have Weston back in school, though. He is ready to go back!

Aidan's Graduation

Aidan finished his year at "Creative Critters" preschool. He and his friend Eli have been attending together, but he has made other friends, too. (Here he is with the two girls in his class, both of which has had crushes on...)
His graduation was the other day and he has been preparing and talking about it for weeks. Scott came and Grandma Tracey even made it! Here he is getting his "goods" at the end. He is able to count well past 100 and loves to count everything he can whenever he can. He is really into numbers right now and I just bought some addition flash cards for Weston and Aidan has been doing them--and doing well! We play "war" with them and he sums them up and figures out who wins. He is also writing up a storm. Always sending me notes, writing books, making signs (as you may see on my facebook posts). He has learned all his colors, shapes, etc. They have made so many crafts and fun things. Since we can't keep everything, we took a picture of him with some of them (and then threw them away).

I took him for his yearly appointment and pre-kinder doctor stuff and he hasn't grown too much, but he is still looking good. He weighs 30 pounds and is 38 1/2 in. tall (the average height for a 3 1/2 year old). Although he is probably just small, we are going to take him to a "specialist" to make sure he is okay. Fortunately, he is easy going and nothing really bothers him.

He also had his last day of tumbling, though I am going to put him in again next year. There is a lady down by the school who does it in her basement for a great price, and she is amazing! He doesn't necessarily love it, but is has really made him stronger and he does well. I also found a fun music class I am putting him in next year that will be awesome for him.

He is growing up, so he is getting more curious about life. He decided to cut his own hair and took a little chunk out of the very front. Then he decided to see how gum would look in the back. I got to cut that out. He is a marvelous boy and is always making us laugh. We just LOOOOVE him!

Here are some photos of our tulips in our yard before the snow smothered them. Scott planted them all over the yard and it really looks beautiful.And of course I have to add a photo of Elise... Darling girl!

What?

The purpose of the photo is two fold-- 1) to show off my new bangs. I want truthful opinions--do you like them? I cut bangs a few months ago, but I also put them to the side. Now they are straight down. What do you think?

and 2) Take a close look at my earrings. Notice anything? Maybe that MY EARS ARE CROOKED. And not just a little. A whole big amount! You live with yourself for almost 34 years, and then you notice something you've never known before. In fact, it looks like my whole face is off a little. I have noticed my bottom lip before--it is a bit weird, but really--my ears are an inch different! And my eyes look strange--one is more closed than the other. I guess with new technology cameras really pick up all the details. Tell me--have you noticed and just not told me? Have I really been walking around all these years with such a funny head????

And, don't really look too closely. I know next time I see you, you are going to be checking out my head and its freakiness.

Mother's Day

It was lovely. My children gave me all of their homemade cards and love notes. Weston made me breakfast in bed. Aidan asnwered questions about me, saying I was 49 years old and that my favorite thing to do is "lay in bed". My husband got me THREE dozen roses (you read right... I am loved). And they gave me a perfect present--a Family Home Evening Chart--customized to the exact color I wanted. It is so great!Also, I have a wonderful little baby girl! I just LOVE her!

I love to see the Temple

Brennan has really been picking up on things lately and it couldn't make me happier! He loves learning about Jesus and singing primary songs. Now that he can talk, he points out every church we see--calling them temples. Yesterday we drove near the Jordan River temple, and he saw it and pointed it out. He then said, "Jesus lives in temple." Wow! What a wonderful kid. I am so glad he is learning about the gospel and loves the temple.
